Local Boy Scout completes Eagle Scout project

Hello, my name is James Nelson, and I’m 12 years old. I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 120. For my Eagle Project, I met with many different people from multiple scout troops, friends, dental and doctor offices, and other businesses in the Bend community. I asked them to pass out and/or hang up the mini posters created by Stroke Awareness Oregon that show the signs of stroke and what you should do if you or a loved one show the signs. I was able to pass out about 2,500 mini posters. They can be found in places like Newport Avenue Market, Vibe Dance Studio, Gold+Arrow Salon, Ace Hardware, Safeway, Dental Wellness of Bend, Dermatology Health Specialists, and many other places. The Facebook Prineville Data Center even displayed a digital copy of the poster on their employee display TVs. My Eagle Project was fun. I hope it can save a lot of people’s lives and bring awareness.

I would also like to thank everyone who helped me. I couldn’t have done it without your help.

Sincerely, James Nelson
